INTRODUCTIONS:
St.Mary Goretti Girls Sec. School is an all girls Boarding school situated 6 km North of Runyenjes town off the Runyenjes - Chuka HighWay. The cool climate of Kyeni North makes it ideal for proper learning and all students are expected to maintain high academic standards and discipline. The school is sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Embu and therefore every student is expected to fit in the Catholic traditions and other programmes that the sponsor deems fit. Christian Religious Education is compulsory for all students. Computer studies, Home Science and Kenya Sign Language is also offered in school. Form one students and parents will be picked on reporting day by school bus from Runyenjes Total petrol station from 8.30 AM. Regular students are dropped from school at Runyenjes on closing dates and picked from 1.00pm on opening days. Parents are picked at 9.00 am during AGM and dropped at the same point after meeting.

SUNDAY MASS/SERVICE:
Catholic mass/service and non-Catholic service are organized in the school in different rooms. All students are expected to join either of them.

VISITING:
Students are not allowed to be visited during school time. Midterm holiday is compulsory for all students However,in case of a serious need always consult the administration first during week days. Weekend visits (Saturday and Sunday) are NOT allowed at all.

ILLNESS:
The school gives first aid.We also allow students to attend nearby health centres, but for serious cases;Girls’ are given WRITTEN permission to go home for medical care. The parent/Guardian caters for all Medical expenses that are not covered by the government through EDu Afya (NHIF) COVER.

DIET
The school provides a simple diet of Kitheri,Uji for Breakfast, Ugali and rice, seasonal fruit, and 11 O'clock Tea with bread. NB: There is no provision for a special diet.

WELFARE:
There is a school canteen where girls can buy some items that they require. For those with long hair they are allowed at their cost to blow dry within the school by a salonist from outside once per month. A student can talk to the parent using office phone with permission from the Principal or deputy when it is necessary to do so. All parents/Guardians will be expected to turn up for Orientation within the 1st term after form one reporting. Date to be communicated by the office.
